The episode begins with a description of the characters rooms. We hear how Paxton and Zartok are feeling now that the quest for the wand fragments is nearing completion.
We find out why Epilema is carrying around the book (and the books title). We learn about what motivates her to brew beer and the characters taste it and see her brewing setup. She tells the group that when they are done exploring the wizards research complex, she will be leaving them to return home due to family stuff.
The group then stops at Abjuration. They go through the maze to find that everything is the same as they left it (a pane of ice holding back a wall of water). The group discusses using a pane of glass of pain to hold the water back in order to take the wand fragment from there or let the lower levels just flood. They attempt the glass pane and discover that it will indeed cover the distance in front of the ice.
They take the glass pain with them and head down to Transmutation. Using ArcaneEye, Zartok scopes out the level. Avoiding the stonw figures, the group os able to recover the wand fragment without incident. This level seems to be a factory for creating the glass worlds.
The administration room in appears to have records of the worlds. The group reads records on Quia (terminated, compatible with reporters). They also find spell scrolls.
The group moves on to the next level down. A big metallic door opens when Paxton knocks 3 times. The stairs continue down 80 feet without walls.
